Captain Alan Abadie

Commander of Technical Services Bureau


Captain Alan Abadie began his career with the Kenner Police Department's Airport Division in 1986.  He was assigned to the Patrol Division in 1990, and started working Patrol/Crime Scene in 1992.  In 1997 he was assigned the departments K-9 tracking dog “Hunter”. 

He was promoted to Sergeant in 1999 and was assigned to the Patrol Division as supervisor of the 3rd watch.  In 2002 he was assigned to the Crime Scene Unit as supervisor.   

In 2014 he was promoted to Lieutenant and continued his assignment as Crime Scene Supervisor. Captain Abadie holds a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Social and Criminal Justice/ History from Ashford University and is a graduate from the Southwest School of Law Enforcement.  He is also recognized through the courts as an expert in several forensic disciplines: latent fingerprint identification, gunshot residue, and collection and preservation of DNA evidence.

On June 10, 2015 he was promoted to Captain and assigned as Commander of the Technical Services Bureau.
