Captain Christy Sievers

Commander of Investigative and Support Services Bureau

  Captain Christy Sievers began her career with the Kenner Police Department in 1988. Captain Sievers began her career working in the 911 Center as a Dispatcher until 1990 when she was transferred to the Patrol Division.  In 1990, Sievers graduated from the New Orleans Police Academy, and was assigned to the Airport Division until 1991.

  Sievers remained in the Patrol Division from 1991, until she was assigned to the Crime Scene Division in 2002, where she served as a Crime Scene Technician. She remained with the Crime Scene Division until being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2006.

   As a Sergeant, Sievers served over the Patrol Division from 2006 until 2009. In 2009, Sgt Sievers was assigned to the Communications Division where she assumed the duties of Communications Supervisor. In 2014, Sievers was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and became the Commander of the Communications Division. In September of 2018, Lieutenant Sievers was promoted to Captain, becoming the first female Captain in the history of the Kenner Police Department. Captain Sievers is now the Commander of the Investigative and Support Services Bureau.

  Captain Sievers has completed numerous training and refresher courses throughout her career. She is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association where she received the Trilogy award, for successfully completing courses at the Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute and Executive Leadership Institute.
