KENNER POLICE ARREST KENNER WOMAN IN FATAL CRASH

KENNER - Kenner Police have arrested Carol Banks, B/F, age 62, 3628 Loyola Drive, Kenner, La., for causing a multi-vehicle fatal crash in Kenner on February 10, 2010.

Based on physical evidence and independent witnesses, investigators were able to determine that Carol Banks was traveling a high rate of speed westbound on I-10 in a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis. Ms Banks swerved from the left lane of travel into the center lane of traffic striking a Toyota Sienna. The impact sent the Toyota into a side slide, sending it across the median and directly into the path of a Chevy Tahoe traveling eastbound on I-10 eastbound. Ms Banks continued westbound striking an additional vehicle. Ms Banks exited I-10 on Loyola Drive where she was stopped by Officers responding to the scene.

The Toyota Sienna was being driven by Gerard Faucheux, age 42, of Meadville, Mississippi. The vehicles occupants were his father Nelson Faucheux, age 72, of Paulina, LA and his mother Shirley Faucheux, age 72, also of Paulina, LA. All three died at the scene of the crash.

Carol Banks was arrested by Investigators of the Kenner Police Traffic Division and charged with the following:

        3 counts of Negligent Homicide

        1 count of Reckless Operation

2 counts of Hit & Run

Chief Steve Caraway urges anyone with information concerning this incident, to call the Kenner Police Department at (504) 712-2222, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
