KENNER POLICE INVESTIGATING FATALITY ACCIDENT

 

KENNER - On November 6, 2011 at 4:33 P.M. a 2001 GMC Pickup truck was backing into a driveway in the 4200 block of E. Loyola Drive in Kenner. The victim Phillip Negri II, 43 years old of Metairie, was standing by a bench where 3 individuals were seated. 

The driver of the vehicle depressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to rapidly accelerate. The victim and the pick-up truck were propelled thru the brick wall of the residence.  Phillip Negri II was transported to a local where he was pronounced dead.  The three individuals seated on the bench were treated for minor injuries.

The driver submitted to a blood test and investigators are awaiting the results of the test, no charges have been file against the driver at this time.

Traffic Officer G. Miller is in charge of the investigation.
