POLICE INVESTIGATING MURDER / SUSPECT ARRESTED
The Kenner Police Department is presently
investigating a murder that occurred in the wooded area just
north of the 900 block of Curtis Avenue, in Kenner.
At approximately, 3:29 p.m.,
42-year-old Willie Hall, of 909 Curtis Avenue, Kenner, dialed
9-1-1 and advised police dispatchers that he had been shot and
was lying in the wooded area off Curtis Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and found
Hall in the wooded area.
Hall had been shot multiple times.
Prior to Hall succumbing to his
injuries, Hall told police dispatchers that he was shot by Roy
Garland, 61, of
1010 Minden Avenue, in
Kenner Police set a perimeter and located
in the 100 block of
W. Airline Highway where he was taken
At the time of Garlandís arrest, he was wearing clothing
identical to clothing described by Hall that was covered in
At the present time the motive to

Kenner Police believed they have
recovered the murder weapon a .38 caliber revolver.
was charged with the crime of second degree murder.
He remains in custody.
has a lengthy criminal history, which shows he has a prior
conviction for second degree murder in which he received a life
sentence in October 1975.
His sentence was later commuted to
20 years with restoration of parole eligibility by Governor
