Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party, October 9
precedes National Night Out Against Crime, October 11
Everyone is invited to attend the twelfth Annual National Night
Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party taking place on Sunday, October
9, from 3 – 7 p.m. at Laketown in Kenner.
The Kick Off and National
Night Out events, which were previously hosted in August, have
been moved to October this year in order to take advantage of
the cooler weather.
As always, there will be exciting
entertainment including children’s activities, various displays
and demonstrations by law enforcement professionals, live music
and great food - ALL FREE!
Representatives in every area of
law enforcement will be there to talk with you.
This is an excellent opportunity
for people considering a career in law enforcement to have their
questions answered by experts in each field and to find out what
their jobs are all about.
It’s also a great time for citizens
and officials to interact and to discuss important issues in our
The Kick-Off Party is a prelude to the 28th
Annual National Night Out Against Crime, which
will observe on the evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
Citizens can help us celebrate this event in a variety of
ways, such as having a block party, a cookout, flashlight walks,
or by sitting on their front porch with their lights on – a
symbol that has become a tradition over the years.
Those organizing parties or gatherings on October 11 are
encouraged to call the Kenner Police Department to have officers
visit their neighborhoods.
