Kenner man on probation for attempt armed robbery arrested for armed robbery

Kenner-A Kenner man on probation for attempt armed robbery until 10/24/2013 has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after he utilized a knife to rob a convenience store cashier at knifepoint.   

 On Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 4:54 a.m. Edward Pons, 26, of 1913 34th Street, Kenner, entered the Circle K / Exxon, located at 3451 Williams Boulevard, Kenner.  Pons who attempted to shield his identity produced a large bladed knife and demanded money from the cashier.  The cashier complied and relinquished approximately 40.00 to Pons. 

 Upon speaking to the victim cashier, it was learned that the suspect / Pons was in the store approximately 20 minutes earlier where he had purchased cigarettes and likely cased the business prior to the armed robbery.  Pons was positively identified as the perpetrator of the armed robbery and was taken into custody without incident at his residence, located at 1913 34th Street, in Kenner. 

 Kenner Police executed a search warrant at Pons residence and recovered the clothing that Pons wore at the time of the armed robbery. 

 At the time of the offense Pons was currently under the supervision of the Jefferson Parish Probation and Parole Office for the crime of attempt armed robbery (New Orleans conviction).  Pons was charged with the crime of armed robbery.  At the present time Pons remains in custody no bond has been set.  In addition, Pons was also charged with probation violations.
