MOTHER AND DAUGHTER DIE IN KENNER HOUSE FIRE

 

KENNER - A 40 year old mother and her 5 year old daughter died after the home they were living in caught fire at 1800 39th Street, in Kenner.  Multiple 9-1-1 telephone calls were received concerning the fire, which was reported at 03:16 a.m., (Thursday, May 31, 2012).   The mother, identified as Elideth Rumbo and daughter, identified as Escarlett Rumbo who was rescued by Firefighters were transported to Ochsner Kenner where their deaths were later pronounced.    Three additional people in the home all males aged 41, 14, and 11 were transported to Ochsner Main-Campus where they were treated for smoke inhalation. 

The Kenner Police Department is assisting the Kenner Fire Department and State Fire Marshals who are investigating the cause of the fire.
