Kenner Police investigate murder

Kenner - The Kenner Police Department is presently investigating a murder.  At approximately 9:25 a.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013, the Kenner Police Department received a telephone call reporting gunshots and a subject down in the 1900 block of Roosevelt Boulevard, in Kenner.    

 Officers responding to the location found Derrick Garner, 24, of Kenner, had been shot.  Garner was transported to University Hospital where his death was pronounced.  At the present time no motive or suspect has been determined.  Witnesses report seeing a beige colored sedan fleeing the location directly after the shooting.

 Detective Jessica Zuppardo is in charge of the investigation.
