Kenner man arrested for burglarizing same business twice

Kenner - On Monday, December 9, 2013, at 05:40 a.m., an alert citizen called Kenner Police and reported that they observed a suspicious person lurking around a closed business, at 2100 Bruin Drive, in Kenner.  The citizen reported hearing a loud bang and observed the suspicious person enter the business and close the door.

Officers responding to the citizenís complaint, arrived at the business of Dannyís Gourmet Snowballs and Coffee Shop, located at 2100 Bruin Drive, in Kenner.  There officers found damage to the front door and trim.  Officers entered the business and found River Majoria, 17, who provided a home address of 2904 Texas Avenue, hiding in the closet inside the business.  Majoria was taken into custody without incident.

In addition, officers were already aware that the business had been burglarized on December 2, 2013, in which an unknown person(s) forced entry into the business, and damaged the floor, sheet rock, and other property inside the business.

Majoria was interviewed by Detective Harold Pendergast at which time he confessed to the December 2nd incident, claiming he was homeless and needed money.

Majoria was charged with the crimes of unauthorized entry into a place of business (2-counts) relating to both incidents (December 2nd and 9th).  At the time of this press release, Majoria remains in custody; his bond was set at $10,000.00.

Chief Steve Caraway urges anyone with information concerning these incidents to call the Kenner Police Officer Paul Carmouche or Detective Harold Pendergast at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
