Undercover investigation nets repeat offenders, 12 arrested

Kenner-On Wednesday, February 27, 2013, the Kenner Police Department, assisted by the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office, State Probation and Parole (East Jefferson District), DEA, and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Task Force, conducted a round up, arresting 12 as the result of an undercover operation that began in October 2012.  The four (4) month undercover operation was focused on information received regarding illegal narcotics activity, which resulted in undercover detectives being able to make numerous purchases of illegal narcotics from career / repeat offenders, some who were presently on probation and parole.  Those arrested are identified as follows:

 (1)  Gregory Washington, 23, who provided the home address of 4341 Lorie Drive, apartment C, Kenner.   Washington is charged with four (4) counts of Distribution of a Scheduled II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine and probation violations. 

 Washington is presently on probation until 1/26/2014 for the crimes of theft and Possession of “Crack” Cocaine. 

 Washington has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for the crimes of Receiving Stolen Things, Theft, (2009), and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Cocaine (2009).

 2)  James Augustine, 25, who provided the home address of 2604 Tupelo Street, Kenner.  Augustine is charged with two (2) counts of Distribution of a Scheduled II controlled dangerous substance “Crack,” Cocaine.

 Augustine has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for the crimes of:

 1999   Possession of Marijuana

2000   Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana

2006   Possession of Crack Cocaine

2007   Looting & Possession of Crack Cocaine

2008   Possession of Marijuana (2nd) offense

2009   Possession of Marijuana

 (3)  Marcus Lewis, 33, who provided the home address of 2755 Huntsville Street, Kenner.  Lewis was charged with one (1) count of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine, and probation violations. 

 Lewis is presently on probation for a January 2013 conviction for Possession of Marijuana until January 13, 2014. 

 (4)  Corteze Myers, 26, who provided the home address of 1 Summerton Drive, St. Rose.  Myers was charged with three (3) counts of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, “Crack” Cocaine.

      Myers presently has a case pending in 24th Judicial Court for possessing Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia (November 2011 arrest) also Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, “Crack” Cocaine. Myers has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for Possession of Marijuana (2005), and      Possession with the Intent to Distribute “Crack” Cocaine (2008).

 (5)  Lyndell Alford, 28, who provided the home address of 2611 Phoenix Street, apartment B, Kenner.  Alford is charged with four (4) counts of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine, resisting an officer, and parole violations.  Alford is presently on parole for Possession of “Crack” Cocaine until 3/21/2014.

 Alford has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia (2004), Possession of Marijuana 3rd offense (2006), and Possession of “Crack” Cocaine (2008). 

 (6)  Manuel Bolian, 58, who provided the home address of 2735 Dawson Street, Kenner.  Bolian was charged with one (1) count of Distribution of a Schedule II C.D.S. “Crack” Cocaine. 

 (7)  Elvin Bazile, 30, who provided the home address of 412 N. Laurel Street, River Ridge.  Bazile was charged with two (2) counts of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine. Bazile has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for possessing marijuana (2000 & 2001), and Possession of “Crack” Cocaine (2000 & 2001).

 (8)  Isaiah Lane, 23, who provided the home address of 613 George Street, Avondale.  Lane was charged with one (1) count of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine, and parole violations.  Lane is presently on parole for Illegal Use of Weapons until 3/15/2013. 

 Lane has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for Illegal Use of Weapons (2009), and Possession of “Crack” Cocaine and Marijuana (2010). 

 (9)  Jamyron Adams, 19, who provided the home address of 2615 Augusta Street, Kenner.  Adams was charged with one (1) count of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine, and probation violations.  Adams is presently on probation until 7/18/2013 for Possession of a Legendry Drug (Tramadol) without a prescription and Possession of Marijuana (2012). 

 (10)  Lindy Jackson, 48, who provided the home address of 2729 Dawson Street, Kenner. Jackson was charged with three (3) counts Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine. Jackson presently has a case pending in 24th Judicial Court for the crimes of possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia from an April 2012 arrest.

 Jackson has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for possession of cocaine (1998 & 1999) and illegal carrying of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies (1998).

(11)   Kernelius Alford, 23, who provided the home address of 2616 Richland Street, apartment C, Kenner. Alford was charged with two (2) counts of Distribution of a Schedule II C.D.S. “Crack” Cocaine. Alford presently has a case pending in 24th Judicial Court for Illegal carrying of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies from a November 2012 arrest. 

 Alford has prior convictions (Jefferson Parish) for Possession of Marijuana 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th offenses (2008, 2008, 2011, & 2012), Possession of Cocaine (2010), Illegal Carrying of Weapons (2010), and Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license (2010). 

 (12) Kevin Brown, 33, who provided the home address of 3653 West Loyola Drive, Kenner.  Brown is charged with one (1) count of Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance “Crack” Cocaine. 

 Brown has prior convictions for Possession of Marijuana (1998, 1999, and 2002).  In addition, Brown has convictions for Possession of Cocaine (2002 & 2003), and receiving stolen things (1997). 

 At the time of this press release, Kenner Police are attempting to locate three additional subjects in reference to the undercover operation.  Those names will be released at a later time. 

 All subjects arrested above, remain in custody, no bond has been set.
