Kenner - On Sunday, January 6, 2013, at approximately 9:53 p.m., the Kenner Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Shop N Go, located at 4345 Williams Boulevard, in Kenner.  There officers learned that a black male, wearing a black bandanna along with a blue jacket with a hood, entered the store and produced a gun and demanded money from the cash register.  The armed robbery suspect then fled to an awaiting vehicle, described to be a black SUV with no license plate, which fled south on Williams Boulevard.

Shortly after the armed robbery, Kenner Police Officers observed a vehicle matching the description provided traveling south in the 2700 block of Williams Boulevard.  Officers stopped the vehicle, a black 2003 Nissan Murano as it entered the 2600 block of Georgia Avenue, at which time the passenger exited the vehicle and fled southbound towards 26th Street.  The driver, Jonathan Butler, 23, of 2164 Carmel Valley Drive, in LaPlace, was detained and arrested for the crime of armed robbery.

The second suspect, who fled the vehicle, remains at large.  Kenner Police detectives are attempting to identify the suspect who fled.
