Kenner- A LaPlace man has been arrested after he stole a large amount of fuel from his former employer.  On Thursday, June 06, 2013, Robert Shannon, 34, of 2403 Herbert Drive, LaPlace, was arrested and charged with the crime of theft valued at $4500.00 and simple criminal damage to property.  On Tuesday (June 4, 2013), at approximately 11:57 p.m., Shannon returned to his former employer, Crescent Foundations, located at 101 27th Street, in Kenner.  Their Shannon cut a feeder line, scaled a fence, and removed the nozzle to a fuel tank located on the property.  Shannon then pumped between 650 to 800 gallons of fuel into a storage tank that he had on a trailer that he was pulling with his truck.  After the reported theft, Shannon was located by the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office, where he was arrested as a fugitive from Kenner.  On Thursday, Shannon was transferred to the custody of the Kenner Police Department.
