Two severely injured in morning accident

Kenner-Two men have been severely injured after a morning accident after they struck a high voltage electrical line in the rear yard of a residence with an aluminum ladder.

At approximately 10:58 a.m., (Monday, June 10, 2013) the Kenner Police Department received multiple calls in reference to two men who had possibly been electrocuted in the rear yard of a residence in the 400 block of Incarnate Word Drive, in Kenner.  Upon first responders arrival they learned that the homeowner had hired two male acquaintances ages 41 and 51 to cut two trees.  While in the rear yard, the male victims struck a high voltage electrical line with an aluminum ladder.  Both victims sustained a severe shock and were burned severely.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.

Names of the victims have not been released pending notification of family.
