Kenner Police Department earns honor for DWI enforcement

Kenner - Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway is proud to announce that the Kenner Police Department has been recognized by the Louisiana Safety Commission as the law enforcement agency responsible for removing the most DWI suspects collectively from the state roads during 2012.  In honor of the Kenner Police Department’s hard work and dedication to making Louisiana roadways safer for the traveling public, an award was presented (see attached) to the Kenner Police Department on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the 5th Annual LHSC DWI Enforcement Award Program Ceremony, in Baton Rouge.

The awards are designed to recognize leaders in DWI enforcement efforts and to raise awareness of the problem.  The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission work year round to support enforcement and education programs related to DWI and other problem driving behaviors.  The award program, started in 2008, was developed with the support and cooperation of the Louisiana State Police, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Louisiana Sheriff’s Association, Louisiana Judicial Association, and the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association.  This was the third year that the Kenner Police Department received the award.
