Man attempting to sell Air Jordan tennis shoes on Instagram & KIK robbed at gunpoint

 Kenner - A 17-year-old Gretna teenager was robbed at gunpoint after arriving at a pre-arranged location in Kenner to sell a pair of Air Jordan tennis shoes he was advertising for sale on Instagram & KIK. 

 On Saturday, August 2, 2014, the 17-year-old victim advertised he had a pair of Air Jordan tennis shoes for sale on Instagram and KIK for the sum of $160.00.  The teen corresponded and agreed to meet with the purchaser in the 1400 block of 31st Street, in Kenner to complete the transaction.  Upon arrival, the victim met with several teenagers, one who produced a handgun and robbed the victim at gunpoint. 

 As the result of an investigation Kenner Police arrested Brian Ratliff, 17, of 3933 Dominique Street, Chalmette, Marcel Green 18, of 3101 Phoenix Street, Kenner, and two 16 year old Kenner teenagers who was involved in the armed robbery.  Ratcliff was charged with the crimes of armed robbery and possession of marijuana .5 grams.  Green and the two 16-year old juveniles were charged with the crime of armed robbery.   

 The incident remains under investigation, a total of 5 people were involved in the armed robbery.  

 At the time of this press release, Ratliff remains in custody his bond was set at $75,000.00.  Green remains in custody (was arrested Monday August 4th) no bond has been set.  The two juveniles whose identities are being withheld due to the fact they are 16 years old, were transported to the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, in Gretna pending a continued custody hearing.
