Kenner Police investigating fatality involving a pedestrian

Kenner - The Kenner Police Department is presently investigating a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian in the 1800 block of I-10 eastbound, in Kenner.

At approximately 8:23 p.m., the Kenner Police Department received numerous 9-1-1 telephone calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.  Upon officers arrival on scene they discovered the body of a male victim on the eastbound shoulder.  The male victimís death was pronounced on scene.  It is believed this may be a fatality hit and run.  The incident remains under investigation.   At the time of this press release only the center lane is open traveling eastbound, due to a jackknifed 18 wheeler in the left lane.

Additional information and the victimís identity will be provided, when available, including the notification of family concerning the fatality death.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone who may have witnessed this fatality to call Kenner Police Traffic Investigator Jon Cryer at (504) 712-2236.
