Kenner - On Monday, February 17, 2014, Alice McKibbon, 48, of 2850 Idaho Avenue, apartment 1004, Kenner, was arrested and charged with the crimes of purse snatching, attempt purse snatching, and possession of stolen things.

On Sunday, January 26, 2014, McKibbon entered the Winn Dixie grocery store, located at 2104 Williams Boulevard, Kenner.  While a 31 year old victim shopped, McKibbon approached the victimís grocery cart and attempted to snatch the victimís purse.  The victim was able to overpower McKibbon and regain possession of her purse, at which time McKibbon fled the store.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, McKibbon entered the Wal-Mart grocery store, located at 3520 Williams Boulevard, Kenner.  While the 61 year old victim shopped and had her purse in her grocery cart, McKibbon approached the victim and snatched the victimís purse from her grocery cart while she had her back turned shopping.  McKibbon then fled the store taking the victimís purse.

McKibbon was subsequently identified once an informant called police and reported that McKibbon was snatching purses from victims as they shopped.

On Monday (February 17, 2014), the Kenner Police Department executed a search warrant on McKibbonís apartment.  During the search of the apartment, a purse and property taken from a 68 year old victim who was shopping at the Dollar General, located at 7123 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie was located inside McKibbonís apartment.   Additional charges are expected.  At the time of this press release, McKibbon remains in custody, no bond has been set.  McKinnon attributed her actions to an addiction she has with heroin.
