Kenner man arrested in December armed robbery and burglary

 Kenner - On Tuesday, January 15, 2014, Earl Stephens, 33, who provided the home address of 3809 West Loyola Drive, Kenner, was arrested by members of the Kenner Police Department and U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Task Force, concerning a December 2013 armed robbery and burglary. 

 Stephen’s was identified as the suspect Monday (1/14/2014), as the person who robbed the Driftwood Spur, located at 8910 West Esplanade Avenue, in Kenner, on December 14, 2013.  On that date Stephens entered the Driftwood Spur, produced a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.  It was noted at that time; Stephen’s had utilized band aids which he placed over his facial tattoos, in an attempt to conceal his identity.  

 In addition to the armed robbery, Stephen’s was also charged concerning a shed burglary reported the same day, December 14, 2014, in the 3600 block of Lake Trail Drive, in Kenner.  Stephen’s entered the rear yard of a residence, forced entry into a shed, and removed a gas leaf blower and trimmer which were later found pawned at a local pawn shop.   

 Stephen’s who has felony convictions for simple burglary (2006) was charged with the crimes of armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies, and simple burglary, concerning these two incidents. 

 At the time of this press release, Stephen’s remains in custody, no bond has been set.
