Kenner Police attempt to identify suspect who stole a vehicle with a child inside

Kenner - The Kenner Police Department is attempting to identify a person wanted in reference to an auto theft that occurred yesterday, where a five (5) year old child was taken.  At approximately 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014, the Kenner Police Department responded to the 800 block of Vouray Drive, in Kenner, to investigate a vehicle theft / child kidnapping complaint.   Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim family had just arrived home in their 2006 Nissan Pathfinder (silver in color).  While unloading the vehicle (kids, etc.), the victim family walked inside while leaving one child inside the Nissan.  As the parents exited to retrieve their last child (5 year old female), the vehicle and child was gone.

Within 40 minutes of the call the child was found on Georgetown Drive, in Kenner, unharmed and the Nissan Pathfinder abandoned in the 300 block of Emerson Drive, in Kenner.

The perpetrator of this incident was described to be a dark skinned man, wearing a possible hoodie.
