Kenner woman arrested in reference to residential burglaries

 Kenner - A Kenner woman has been arrested and charged concerning her role in 10 separate residential burglary complaints. 

 On Monday, January 06, 2014, a search warrant was executed at the residence of Janell Keys, 38, of 3752 East Loyola Drive, in Kenner, concerning several residential and attempt residential burglaries that have occurred on East Loyola Drive, East Louisiana State Drive, and Ole Miss Drive in Kenner.  As a result of the search warrant, property has been recovered linking Keys to several residential burglaries which were reported between the dates of December 8, 2013, and January 2, 2014.  In addition, Keys was found to have pawned multiple items taken during the residential burglaries.  Keys admitted her role in the burglaries advising she acted as a look out while others committed the burglaries.    

 Keys was charged with the crimes of attempt simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (2-counts), simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (8-counts), and possession of marijuana .2 grams (which was recovered during the search warrant of her residence).   In each of the burglaries, entry was made by forcing entry into the rear of the residence by breaking a window if the window was not found unlocked.  Taken during the burglaries was money, jewelry, laptop computers, video game systems, and other electronics equipment.

  At the time of this press release Keys remains in custody, no bond has been set.  The investigation continues.  In addition to the burglary arrests, Keys was also charged with five outstanding standing attachments for issuing worthless checks, one for possession of marijuana, and two for the traffic violations.
