Kenner man charged with attempted second degree murder

 Kenner - On Friday, April 10, 2015, Jairus Wallace, 28, who provided a home address of 341 Clemson Place, in Kenner, was arrested and charged with the crime of attempt second degree murder. 

 Wallace was involved in a disturbance with a 52 year old male acquaintance over a television that was loaned to him.  During the disturbance, Wallace produced a large kitchen knife that he utilized to stab the victim multiple times to the right side of the victimís body, which included the victimís right arm, bicep, chest, and knee.  The victim was transported to Ochsner Kenner by private vehicle, at which time the hospital notified police of the stabbing. 

 

As a result of the investigation, Kenner Police was able to obtain video surveillance evidence, which showed Wallace approach the victim who was seated on the passenger side of a vehicle.  As Wallace nears the passenger door, he is seen with the knife in his right hand.  Wallace is then observed stabbing the victim through the open window five times until the vehicle drives away. 

 

Wallace was taken into custody at his home listed above.  The knife was recovered.  At the time of this press release, Wallace remains in custody his bond was set at $200,000.   The victim was required to undergo emergency surgery as the result of the stab wounds.  The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
