Kenner man shot in back during robbery attempt

 Kenner - On Monday, April 13, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a 21-year-old male was shot in the back in the 2600 block of Helena Street, in Kenner. 

 The victim reports that he was in front of his residence when he was approached by a group of males (6).  One male suspect demanded his money and stuck the victim in the face.  A second member of the group of males then produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim.  The victim fled on foot and the suspect with the handgun fired several shots striking the victim in the upper back. 

 

The victim was transported to LSU Interim Hospital (University Hospital) where he was treated and listed in stable condition. 

 

The suspects (6) are described to be black males, around 15 to 19 years old.  One was said to be between 63 to 66 in height, wearing a black shirt and pants.  A second suspect was described to be 50 to 53 in height, wearing a gray shirt and white jeans.
