Attorney arrested for theft, forgery, and false impersonation

KENNER - On Friday, August 14, 2015, the Kenner Police Department arrested Gregory Discon, 49, (Louisiana Bar number 22037), for the crimes of theft valued at $25,920.00, forgery, documents simulating official court papers, and false impersonation.

In September 2014, the business of Elevations Shoring hired the Duggins Law Firm, from New Orleans to perform collection services on their behalf from delinquent accounts.  The owner of Duggins Law Firm assigned attorney Gregory Discon to perform work on the account.

Between September 2014 and June 2015, Discon submitted invoices to Elevation Shoring which requested reimbursements for worked performed on the account.  Discon requested reimbursements for various acts such as filing complaints or motions in court.  Discon requested that payments be made directly to him and not the law firm for which employed him.  In addition to the invoices Discon submitted fraudulent paperwork to Elevations Shoring which purported to be official in nature and bears a judges signature which was found to be forged.

An investigation revealed Discon defrauded Elevations Shoring out of $25,920.00 for work he never performed.

Discon was located Friday, in 200 block of Jefferson Highway, in Jefferson, where he was arrested on an outstanding warrant obtained for his arrest.   Discon was charged with the above listed charges.   At the time of this press release, Discon remains in custody, no bond has been set.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser encourages anyone with information concerning Gregory Discon, to contact Kenner Police Detective Brad Ricke at (504) 712-2214 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
