Kenner man arrested for supplying ammunition to juveniles during April shooting

KENNER - On Friday, August 14, 2015, the Kenner Police Department arrested John McDowell, 21, who provided the home address of 3520 West Louisiana State Drive, in Kenner.  McDowell was charged with the crimes of principal to aggravated battery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

In July, McDowell was arrested by the Kenner Police Departmentís Narcotics Investigative Division after a search warrant was executed at his home.  McDowell at that time was found to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a .410 shotgun.  During the search; McDowellís cellular telephone was also seized.   A forensic search of the cellular phone revealed a video of a shooting which took place on April 8, 2015, in the 3500 block of West Louisiana State Drive, in Kenner.

During the review of that video, McDowell who was recording the fight / shooting, admitted to supplying .22 caliber ammunition to the juveniles arrested in that shooting.  McDowell was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on Sunday after posting a commercial bond.  His bond had been set at $20,500.00.  The original news release from the April shooting is also attached.
