Joint investigation leads to the arrest of a Kenner man for multiple charges

Kenner - A joint investigation by the Kenner Police Department and the New Orleans FBI Violent Crimes Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a Kenner man concerning a runaway juvenile.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2015, Jermain Myles, 40, of Kenner, was charged with the crimes of false swearing for the purpose of violating public health and safety (false police report), sexual battery, simple kidnapping, theft valued at $1,400.00, indecent behavior with a juvenile, aggravated crime against nature, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under the age of 17, and illegal possession of marijuana .8 grams.

This investigation began when a 13-year-old female was reported as a runaway.  The investigation led detectives to the Rose Inn Motel, located in the 3600 block of Tulane Avenue, in New Orleans, where Myles was found inside a motel room with the 13-year-old girl.   Interviews conducted and admissions made by Myles, including the recovery of evidence, resulted in the above criminal charges being filed against him.

At the time of this press release, Myles remains in custody, no bond has been set.
