Kenner man arrested for armed robbery and theft

Kenner - On Thursday, January 29, 2015, Terrance Williams, 26, who provided a home address of 541 Salvador Road, in Kenner was arrested and charged with the crimes of armed robbery and theft.

At approximately 01:06 a.m., Williams entered the Chevron, located at 181 W. Airline Drive, in Kenner, where he approached the counter and demanded money from the cash register.   The clerk, believing Williams was joking turned away and began to stock merchandise.  Williams then stated he was serious and partially removed a small black handgun from his right pocket.  The clerk then complied with demands made of her and relinquished the cash from the cash register.

The victim clerk described she was robbed by a black male with tattoos on his face.  In addition, video surveillance revealed that the suspect fled on a bicycle with chrome fenders.

At approximately 05:38 a.m., officers patrolling the 500 block of Salvador Road, in Kenner, located Williams who matched the suspect description and was in possession of a bicycle with chrome fenders.   Williams was detained and identified as the person who had committed the armed robbery.

Williams was also arrested and charged with a theft that occurred January 15, 2015, at the Subway, located at the same location, 181 W. Airline Drive, Kenner.  In that incident, Williams entered the Subway and stole food and money from a tip jar.
