Crime tips lead to two arrests for May purse snatching

 Kenner - On Thursday, June 25, 2015, the Kenner Police Department released surveillance photographs of three individuals wanted for a May 1, 2015, purse snatching that occurred outside Walmart, located at 8912 Veterans Boulevard, in Kenner.  Due to the media release, the Kenner Police Department received multiple crime tips and met with family members concerning two of the suspects depicted. 

 The first suspect; wearing the red shirt, was identified as Tyrone Jackson, 19, of 1408 S. Howard Avenue, in Metairie.  

 

 The second suspect; wearing the Saints shirt, was identified as Darrius Wallace, 17, of 3304 Delaware Avenue, in Kenner. 

 

 Wallace’s family members surrendered Wallace on Sunday, June 28th, where he was arrested concerning his involvement in the purse snatching. 

 

 Jackson was incarcerated at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center due to June 16, 2015 arrest, for felony carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm with a obliterated serial number, and probation violations.   At the time of the purse snatching, Jackson was on probation until 8/11/2015 for Drugs-Schedule I.  

 

 Both Wallace and Jackson have been charged with the crime of purse snatching.  At the time of this press release, both remain in custody, no bond has been set.  The third suspect with the full beard remains at large, his identity is unknown.  Wallace and Jackson did not identify the third suspect.
