Man arrested in two weekend robberies

 Kenner - On Sunday, March 1, 2015, Elvin Ordonez-Ordon, 35 who provided  the homes address of 2324 Idaho Avenue, Kenner, was arrested after he committed a robbery at the Shell Station, located at 3501 Williams Boulevard, in Kenner.  In the robbery, Ordonez-Ordon selected a drink and proceeded to the cashier counter.  Once at the counter, Ordonez-Ordon gave the cashier two; one dollar bills.  After the cashier rang the sale and the cash register drawer opened, Ordonez-Ordon jumped on the counter and engaged in a struggle with the cashier and removed money from the cash register.  Ordonez-Ordon fled the business and was apprehended by Kenner Police Officers who observed him running down Williams Boulevard, and jump into a vehicle. 

 In addition, Ordonez-Ordon was linked to a robbery that occurred on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Kwik Saver, located at 2525 West Metairie Avenue, in Kenner.  Ordonez-Ordon committed that robbery by similar modus operandi in which he selected a drink and walked to the cashier counter.  Once at the counter, Ordonez-Ordon gave the cashier two; one dollar bills.  After the cashier rang the sale and the cash register drawer opened, Ordonez-Ordon jumped on the counter and engaged in a struggle with the cashier and removed money from the cash register then fled the business. 

 Ordonez-Ordon has been charged with simple robbery (2-counts).  In addition, it was determined Ordonez-Ordon was in the country illegally, thus he was also booked on and immigration detainer. 

 Kenner Police Chief Michael J.
