KENNER-On Thursday, October 29, 2015, the Kenner Police Department with the assistance of the FBI Innocent Images Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of Brian Townsend, 43, of 4015 California Avenue, in Kenner.  The Kenner Police Department had received information from a member of the Innocent Images Task Force / Louisiana State Police based out of Shreveport; that Townsend was distributing child pornography via the internet.

An on-scene preview of Townsend’s electronics, which consisted of 1 laptop computer, 3 compact discs, a cell phone, and 2 external storage devices, revealed images and videos of juvenile females engaging in sex acts.  The two thumb drives revealed thirteen videos that Townsend secretly recorded of a nine-year-old juvenile.  It was learned that Townsend activated the video camera application on his cell phone and hid the camera in a room that he sent the juvenile in to change clothes.  Video shows the nine-year-old changing clothes and completely nude. After the juvenile exits the room clothed; Townsend then enters back into the room and retrieves the phone.

Townsend was interviewed by Kenner Police Detective Jessica Zuppardo. Townsend admitted to downloading child pornography several times. He also said he is not sexually attracted to juveniles but could not provide a reason why he downloads it. Townsend advised he has coached children’s gymnastics for approximately 30 years and has never touched a child inappropriately, nor has he been accused of it. Townsend advised he is employed by:
