Inmate who experienced unknown medical emergency death pronounced at hospital

 KENNER - The Kenner Police Department is presently investigating a death of an inmate who suffered a medical emergency and was transported Ochsner Kenner. 

 

 On Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., Brian Shaw, 40, of New Orleans, was arrested by the Kenner Police Department due to outstanding warrants from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for the crimes of monetary instrument abuse and bank fraud.     

 

 At approximately 11:53 a.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015, Shaw became unresponsive while in a jail cell awaiting transport.  Emergency Medical Technicians attempted to revive Shaw who was transported to Ochsner Kenner where his death was pronounced.   An autopsy will be performed by the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, October 27th, in an effort to determine cause of death.
