TWO CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER

  Kenner - On Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 1:06 p.m., the Kenner Police Department responded to a shooting at the Princess Properties apartment complex located at 2260 25th Street, Kenner.   Upon arrival, officers located one male victim shot.  The male victim was transported to Ochsner Kenner where his death was pronounced.  The victim was identified as Tommie Hunter, Jr., 64 of Kenner.  Hunter who lived at the location, was shot multiple times inside his apartment.     

 Shortly after the murder occurred, the Kenner Police Department detained and arrested two males identified by witnesses seen fleeing from Hunterís apartment.  The two males are identified as Lance McIntyre, 25, who provided the home address of 926 Calhoun Street, in Metairie, and Shawn Briscoe, 32, who provided the home address of 3112 Albany Street, in Kenner.   Both have been charged with the crimes of first degree murder and aggravated burglary. 

 

 Briscoe is a Tier 1 Sex Offender having been convicted of the crimes of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia (2005), carnal knowledge of a juvenile (2007), and failure to register as a sex offender (2008).      

 

 During the investigation, the Kenner Police Department recovered a stolen .40 caliber handgun, which was reported stolen from St. John Parish.  The Kenner Police Department is still searching for one additional gun, believed to have been used in this murder.
