Gretna man arrested for cyberstalking

Kenner - On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, the Kenner Police Department assisted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested James Bibbins, 23, of 733 Carrollwood Village Drive, apartment 84, in Gretna, for the crime of cyberstalking.

In January 2016, the Kenner Discovery Charter School, located at 2504 Maine Avenue, in Kenner, began receiving obscene and threatening emails from an email account which was later determined to belong to Bibbins.  Bibbins had applied for a job at the location, and fabricated his educational, work experience and references.

Bibbins was interviewed by Detective Brad Ricke and admitted to sending the obscene and threatening emails to the administrators at Kenner Discovery Charter School.  Bibbins told Detective Ricke that he always wanted to be a teacher, and that he was upset and mad because they would not hire him.

It should be noted that in August 2015, Bibbins a received a summons for obscene talk, concerning a similar incident that involved Elmwood Park Academy, located at 1517 Carol Sue Avenue, in Gretna (item number H-10721-15).

At the time of this press release, Bibbins had been released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on a $20,000.00 bond.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone with information concerning James Bibbins to call Kenner Police Detective Brad Ricke at (504) 712-2214 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
