Jefferson man arrested in thefts / robbery

KENNER-On Saturday, February 20, 2016, Jonathan Quigley, 23, of 747 Parkway Avenue, in Jefferson was arrested on outstanding warrants which charged him with the crimes of first degree robbery and theft of goods (two counts).

On Christmas Day, December 25, 2015, Quigley entered the CVS Pharmacy, located at 2242 Williams Boulevard, in Kenner, where he selected and concealed a bottle of Absolute Vodka on his person.  Quigley proceeded to flee the location without paying for the product.  A manager at the CVS confronted Quigley and asked for the return of the stolen property, at which time Quigley implied and led the manager to believe he was armed.  Due to Quigley implying he was armed, the manager submitted and Quigley was able to flee the location with the stolen alcohol.

Quigley was also identified in an October 8, 2015, theft incident, which occurred at the Walgreens, located at 821 West Esplanade Avenue, in Kenner.  In the October incident, Quigley entered the Walgreens, selected and concealed a bottle of Jim Beam on his person and fled the location.

Quigley was interviewed by Kenner Police Detective Harold Pendergast and admitted to both thefts.  When questioned about implying he was armed, Quigley advised he couldn’t remember.

Quigley was located Friday, at the Jefferson address, by members of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office who arrested him on unrelated narcotics charges.  At the time of this press release, Quigley remains in custody, no bond has been set.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser encourages who may have information concerning Jonathan Quigley, to call Detective Harold Pendergast at (504) 712-2226.
