 Driftwood Subdivision vehicle burglar arrested

 Kenner - On Tuesday, January 12, 2016, the Kenner Police Department arrested Trevon Watson, 20, of 3941 Martinique Avenue, Kenner, and charged him with the crime of simple burglary of a vehicle that was reported to the Kenner Police Department on January 9, 2016.   The vehicle burglary occurred on Monterrey Drive in Kenner. 

 Watson who is known to the Kenner Police Department; was previously arrested; on Thursday, January 7, 2016, and charged with one (1) count of simple burglary, three (3) counts of attempted simple burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, illegal possession of stolen things, illegal possession of Marijuana, and prohibited acts (drug paraphernalia).  Watson was arrested concerning several vehicle burglaries of unlocked vehicles that were reported to Kenner Police on December 10, 2015.   The vehicle burglaries and attempts occurred on Lisa Avenue and Monterrey Drive, in Kenner, all within the Driftwood Subdivision, where Watson resides.   A search of Watson’s residence revealed a stolen 9 millimeter handgun, which had been reported stolen in 2011 from a vehicle that was parked in the 4000 block of Apollo Drive in Metairie.  Kenner Police also recovered marijuana, a grinder, and H & K gun magazines taken form the December 10th vehicle burglaries. 

 Watson had been released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center due to overcrowding, when he was arrested (today, Tuesday, January 12, 2016) and charged with the latest burglary.    Images of Watson (see attached) committing a vehicle burglary had been posted to social media websites.   At the time of this press release, Watson remains in custody, no bond has been set.
