Marrero man killed in an industrial accident

 Kenner - On Thursday, June 23, 2016, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Kenner Police Department responded to an industrial accident, at Pellerin Milnor Corporation, located at 700 Jackson Avenue, in Kenner.

 Upon first respondersí arrival at the location, it was learned that the victim, a 58-year-old male, who worked at the location for the last 6 years, had become trapped and was crushed in an Okuma Macturn 550-W machine.  The machine is an automatic rotating tool machine with a turning lathe.  The machine is electronically programmed and performs its functions on an automatic schedule.

 The victim a master operator for the machine was working on the rotating parts of the machine and apparently had not engaged the safety shut-off when he became trapped and was crushed inside the machine.  The victimís death was pronounced on scene.    

 At the present time, the Kenner Police Department is not identifying the victim, pending family notification.
