2 found dead in submerged vehicle

Kenner - At approximately 09:34 a.m., Friday, March 04, 2016, a City of Kenner worker, working at the boat launch, located in the 4500 block of Williams Boulevard, Kenner, flagged down a Kenner Police Officer and reported that he found what was thought to be a submerged vehicle in Lake Pontchartrain.

Officers responding did in fact locate a submerged 2008 Nissan Xterra in Lake Pontchartrain, which appeared to have entered the water from the boat launch.  Upon pulling the vehicle from the water, the bodies of Wallace Dillion, 69, and his wife, Abbie Dillion, 70 of Kenner were discovered inside the vehicle.  Both deaths were pronounced on scene.

At the present time the Kenner Police Department does no suspect foul play and this tragic incident is currently believed to be a traffic fatality.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser encourages those who may have information concerning this investigation or Wallace and Abbie Dillion to call Kenner Police Traffic Investigator John Terranova at (504) 712-2222.
