Group arrested for multiple counts of purse snatchings, theft, and unauthorized use of an access card

 Kenner - The Kenner Police Department has arrested four people and charged them with a series of purse snatchings, thefts, unauthorized use of an access card, and theft from an aged person. 

 Arrested are:

 Eric Carter 52, of 2500 Verbena Street, New Orleans

 Keith Carter, 57, of 2500 Verbena Street, New Orleans 

 Britta Jefferson, 47, of 4333 Florida Avenue, Apartment 4, Kenner, and 

 Vanessa Pierre, 42, of 909 Vouray Drive, Apartment C, Kenner. 

 Between June 27, 2014 and May 28, 2017, Eric Carter, Keith Carter, Britta Jefferson, and Vanessa Pierre would approach female victims who were shopping in several retail outlets throughout Kenner.  The female victims range in age between 56 and 87 years old.  While shopping, victims would either be engaged in conversation while one of the arrestees would remove the victimís wallet from their purse.  Other victims would have their purses in grocery carts within their immediate possession, turn away, and have their purses and wallets stolen.  On each occasion and immediately following the taking of the victimís purse / wallets, the arrestees would travel to multiple retail outlets in Kenner and the Metropolitan area, and use the victimís credit cards to make purchases of gift cards, food, and fuel. 

 Eric Carter was charged with the crimes of purse snatching (2-counts), identity theft (3-counts), unauthorized use of an access card (3-counts), theft of assets from and aged person (1-count), theft (1-count), principal to identity theft (1-count), principal to attempted identity theft (1-count), and principal to unauthorized use of an access card (1-count). 

 Keith Carter was charged with purse snatching (15-counts), identity theft (12-counts), attempted identity theft (8-counts), unauthorized use of an access card (12-counts), attempted unauthorized use of an access card (3-counts), theft of assets from an aged person (10-counts), attempted theft from an aged person (6-counts), and forgery (1-count). 

 Britta Jefferson was charged with purse snatching (1-counts), identity theft (1-count), unauthorized use of an access card (1-count), and theft of assets from and aged person (1-count). 

 Vanessa Pierre was charged with purse snatching (3-counts), identity theft (2-counts), attempted identity theft (1-count), unauthorized use of an access card (2-counts), theft of assets from an aged person (2-counts), and attempted theft from an aged person (1-count).  

  At the time of this press release, all four remain in custody.
