Kenner man arrested for burglarizing vehicles in Beachview Heights

Kenner -On Monday, March 6, 2017, the Kenner Police Department arrested Corey Ursin, 19, of 1741 42nd Street, Kenner.  Ursin was charged with the crimes of simple burglary (2-counts), resisting an officer, and marijuana possession (.7 grams).

At approximately 04:48 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, an off-duty Kenner Police Officer notified police dispatch of a suspicious male subject, wearing an all dark clothing and a black jacket who appeared to be looking into and hiding behind parked vehicles in the area.

Officers responding to assist the off-duty officer located Corey Ursin burglarizing an unlocked vehicle in the 4200 block of Connecticut Avenue, in Kenner.  As officers attempted to take Ursin into custody, he attempted to flee on foot.  After a short foot pursuit and physical resistance by Ursin, he was taken into custody.  As the result of an investigation, it was determined that Ursin had rummaged thru two unlocked vehicles in an effort to locate property within.  He also possessed .7 grams of marijuana at the time of arrest.

At the time of this press release, Ursin remains in custody, his bond was set at $40,500.00.
