Three arrested for vehicle burglaries

Kenner - On Wednesday, May 17, 2017 the Kenner Police Department arrested Eugene Slayton, 17, who provided the home address of 613 Jade Avenue, Metairie, and two juvenile males, both 13 years of age, and charged them with the crime of simple burglary.  In addition to this arrest, the three listed suspects were also linked to several vehicle burglaries that occurred in Metairie.  The suspects were linked from property recovered and statements provided by each involved.

At approximately 01:09 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, Kenner Police Lieutenant Russell Moran was patrolling the south side of Kenner when he came upon a vehicle burglary in progress, in the 2100 block of Kansas Avenue, in Kenner.   Upon observing the marked police unit, the three suspects fled leading KPD officers on a foot pursuit.   The three were eventually located and arrested.

In addition to the burglary on Kansas Avenue, the investigation revealed the three listed were also found to have committed vehicle burglaries in 8100 block of Weston Street, Canberra Court, and the 1100 block of Lynette Street in Metairie.  JPSO was advised and is handling the Metairie vehicle burglaries.

At the time of this press release, Slayton remains in custody.  His bond was set at $64,000.00.  The two juveniles were transported to the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, in Harvey, where they will undergo a continued custody hearing.
