Kenner Police seeks public assistance in identifying man wanted for Aggravated Assault with a firearm

KENNER  Cab driver picks up a fare in New Orleans, drives him to a Kenner destination.  Suspect flees from cab without paying.  When followed by cab driver suspect points gun at driver.

On January 22, 2019 at 2:25 PM a cab driver picks up the person depicted in the surveillance photos as a cab fare in front of Harrah’s Casino on Canal Street.  The suspect provided an address of 231 Veterans Boulevard in Kenner as his destination.

Upon arriving at the destination, the suspect claimed he needed to go inside a business to get the money for the fare.  When the driver becomes apprehensive the suspect flees from the cab.  The driver begins following the suspect in his cab as he called 911.  The suspect stops, turns toward the driver, removes a handgun from his waistband and points it at the driver of the cab as if to warn him to stop following him.

Suspect was last seen running south in the 2700 block of Fayette Street, Kenner.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone who has any information about these incidents to call the Kenner Police at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
