Kenner Police to participate in Law Enforcement Torch Run on May 21, 2019

(Public invited to run with Law Enforcement)

 KENNER The Kenner Police Department along with Louisiana State Police Troop B, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the Harahan Police Department, Probation and Parole, DEA, FBI, Secert Service, U.S. Marshals, and numerous other agencies, military, and civilans will participate in the 33rd annual Louisiana Law Enforcement Torch Run on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 to benefit Special Olymipcs Louisiana.  Local officers have carried the "Flame of Hope" for Special Olympics throughout the area since the event came to Louisiana in 1985.  To date, the Law enforcement Torch Run is the largest fundraising and public awareness campaign for Special Olympics programs around the world.  This great event is open to the public.  This is a group formation run at a 12+ mile pace.

 The route for the Jefferson Parish leg of the Louisiana Law Enforcement Torch Run: Beginning at approximately 7:00 AM, runners will start at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd. in Metairie,and will run west on Veterans Blvd. towards the Kenner Police Complex, located at 500 Veterans Blvd, where the run will end.  The length of the route is approximately 3.1 miles.  The cost will be $25.00, which will include registration, a t-shirt, food, and entertainment after the run.  To have your shirt for the run, you must register no later than April 10, 2019.
