Guns, drugs and a vehicle pursuit lead to arrest of two men

 KENNER Ė  On March 18, 2019, Kolby Manuel 25, Marrero and Jaquan Lampton 19, Bridge City, were arrested for numerous charges related to narcotics distribution, weapons violations and traffic offenses.   

 Kenner Police received information that a vehicle would be travelling to Kenner, with a significant amount of illegal narcotics. 

 Officers began searching for and located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the Samís parking lot at 455 31st Street, Kenner.  Upon initiating an investigatory stop, the suspect vehicle fled the area winding through streets of the residential neighborhood of Lincoln Manor Subdivision and discarding a large bag of marijuana out the window.  The suspects lost control of their vehicle crashing into a fence and a parked vehicle in the 3000 block of Huntsville Street.

 Both, Lampton and Manuel, attempted to flee on foot after the crash but were immediately taken into custody.  It was then, that officers discovered a two-year-old child in the backseat of the vehicle unrestrained.  The two-year-old was identified to be the son of Kolby Manuel.  The child was checked on scene by paramedics, found to unharmed and released into the care of his grandmother.

 Officers recovered the discarded bag of marijuana and located additional marijuana in the vehicle totaling more than two pounds, a digital scale, two semi-automatic handguns, one with a fifty round drum magazine and $13,000.00 in cash in the vehicle.

 Kolby Manuel was charged with RS:40:966A Possession with intent to Distribute a Schedule I CDS / RS14:95E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a C.D.S. / RS40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia / RS14:92A(11)(a) Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile

 Jaquan Lampton was charged with RS:40:966A Possession with intent to Distribute a Schedule I CDS / RS14:95E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a C.D.S. / RS40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia / RS14:92A(11)(a) Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile / RS14:95.1 Possession of Firearm by a convicted Felon / RS14:108.1 Aggravated Flight from an Officer / RS14:99 Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle / RS14:56 Simple Criminal Damage valued at $800.00 / RS32:52 No Drivers License / RS32:295 No Child Restraint.
