drugs and a vehicle pursuit lead to arrest of two men
March 18, 2019, Kolby Manuel 25, Marrero
and Jaquan Lampton 19, Bridge City, were arrested for numerous charges
related to narcotics distribution, weapons violations and traffic
Police received information that a vehicle would be travelling to
Kenner, with a significant amount of illegal narcotics.
began searching for and located a vehicle matching the description of
the suspect vehicle in the Samís parking lot at 455 31st
Street, Kenner. Upon
initiating an investigatory stop, the suspect vehicle fled the area
winding through streets of the residential neighborhood of Lincoln Manor
Subdivision and discarding a large bag of marijuana out the window.
The suspects lost control of their vehicle crashing into a fence
and a parked vehicle in the 3000 block of Huntsville Street.
Lampton and Manuel, attempted to flee on foot after the crash but were
immediately taken into custody.
It was then, that officers discovered a two-year-old child in the
backseat of the vehicle unrestrained.
The two-year-old was identified to be the son of Kolby Manuel.
The child was checked on scene by paramedics, found to unharmed
and released into the care of his grandmother.
recovered the discarded bag of marijuana and located additional
marijuana in the vehicle totaling more than two pounds, a digital scale,
two semi-automatic handguns, one with a fifty round drum magazine and
$13,000.00 in cash in the vehicle.
Manuel was charged with

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile
Lampton was charged with
