Three
suspects rob victim of money and guns during drug deal
KENNER
–
On
March 9, at 1AM, the victim was contacted, via Snapchat, by Steven
Henning, one of three suspects, whom the victim recently met during
Mardi Gras. The victim
agreed to meet Henning at the La Quinta Inn hotel in Kenner, located at
2610 Williams Boulevard to purchase marijuana.
The
Henning provided a room number to the victim and when the victim entered
the room, he was confronted by Henning and two additional suspects who
were all armed with handguns. The victim was pistol whipped and knocked
unconscious. He awoke to
find the suspects going through his pockets.
His keys and money were taken and he was held at gunpoint while
one of the suspects departed with the victim’s keys to locate his
vehicle. A short time later
he was instructed to walk with the two remaining suspects to the parking
lot, then ordered into his vehicle.
The three suspects and victim drove around while he was held at
gunpoint. Two guns owned by
the victim were found in the victim’s vehicle by the suspects.
The suspects drove the victim to an apartment complex in St.
Rose, which was later identified to be in the 200 block of East Club
Drive. The three suspects
exited the victim’s vehicle, with the victim’s two guns and fled on
foot.
Through
video surveillance, phone records and witness identifications the three
suspects were identified to be Steven Henning, 19, St. Rose, Deiontre
Tumblin, 20, St. Rose and Tariq Rogers, 20, St. Rose.
Deiontre
Tumblin and Tariq Rogers were later learned to live in the same nearby
apartments where the victim was left.
Steven
Henning and Deiontre Tumblin have both been apprehended and booked with
Armed Robbery, Second Degree Kidnapping and Simple Burglary.
Tariq Rogers is currently WANTED
for Armed Robbery, Second Degree Kidnapping and Simple Burglary.
Kenner
Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone who has any information
about these incidents to call the Kenner Police at (504) 712-2222 or
