Kenner Police seek public assistance in helping solve a 2013 cold case homicide

 KENNER  On the morning of August 25, 2013, at 9:25 AM, Derrick Garner, 24, Kenner was shot multiple times in the 1900 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. Witnesses observed a gold or champagne color sedan fleeing the area immediately after hearing gunshots.

 Cold Case Detective Nick Engler has re-opened the investigation after receiving information concerning a possible person of interest and a motive.

 Kenner Police are now building on the new information and feel they can close the case with an arrest but needs the public assistance. We believe there are others out there who have specific information concerning this homicide and we are asking they please make that call.
