We are also seeking young men and women, ages 14 to 18, to join our Explorer Program. This exciting program is open to anyone that has an interest in learning about law enforcement. The program offers young adults an awareness of the criminal justice system through activities and instruction. National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is Jan. 9. This day recognizes the hundreds of thousands of law enforcement personnel who work tirelessly and selflessly to protect and serve. The officers of the Kenner Police Department are among the best of the best. If you see an officer on this day, please take the opportunity to thank them for their courage, integrity and professionalism. On a different note, I want to encourage you to register for our Citizen’s Police Academy. This FREE, 10-week course educates our citizens on how law enforcement operates. Topics and class instruction include criminal investigations, computer forensics, crime scene and much more.
