SPecial Response Team (S.R.T.)

The Special Response Team (S.R.T.) was formed in 2001 to create a group of officers who would be cross trained in tactics and rescue operation.  The officers are highly trained in several areas of emergency response such as active shooter, urban search and rescue, hazardous material, vehicle extrication, and high-water rescue.  SRT members maintain and train on all rescue equipment to ensure the department remains ready to respond to all types of emergencies.

SRT officers conduct proactive patrols, surveillance and other special operations.  In addition to their daily duties, SRT officers also serve part-time as members of the training staff.
